Yet Gene Breed himself is one of those who corrupts the word of God. Take a look at what he said in his sermon entitled "Everlasting Habitations":

<<It is our dealings and our usage of our present stewardship that is the only thing that can sustain us in the hope of having an everlasting habitation! Matthew 25 and verse number 34 -- here's the commendation -- "Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, (Now, here He's got everything in the world, every creature in the world gathered before Him, separated -- verse 32 -- one from the other. Now how's He going to judge them? Well, He said, "Get the election book out"? I ain't never seen an election book. That's not the way it is. What did He say? He said, "Bring out their works." Listen to this.) Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom (There's your everlasting habitations you're going into.) prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (What's the next word in verse 35?) For (What does that mean? Here is the reason. Because of this, you will inherit your everlasting habitations on the basis of this. What is the basis of this? Because you wrote a poem for Jesus, and you had a little tear in your eye, and you read it to the church, and it moved everybody's heart, and you had a chill up your backbone when Old Lady Longtongue hit that note in Amazing Grace? Nuh-uh. What's "for"? Why are you going into everlasting habitations? Why do you have the right to enter into prepared kingdoms and inherit them?) I was an hungred, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: (I was) Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then ... the righteous (said,) Love, when saw we thee an hungred, and feed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? (And here's where the shoe drops.) And the King shall answer and say unto them, ("It was in the proper discharge of your stewardship when you gave them meat in season." You say, "Is that what it says?" That's what it means.) Verily (truly, of a truth) I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me." ... And Jesus said, "That's good stewardship. Everlasting habitations are yours. Enter in." That's the commendation. ... Matthew 25, let's close out. Matthew 25, verse 41. You say, "Boy, I'm going up yonder, and the streets are gold!" You got 50 cents in your pocket, and you wouldn't buy that fellar a cup of coffee. How can you say you're going to be trusted with true riches, if you can't use what you've got? And it was given to you to pass out, not given you to hoard up. Matthew 25:41, listen: "Then shall he say unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (You're an intruder.) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: (Works, friends, works. Stewardship. Give account of thy stewardship. He's basing their eternal habitation upon their present stewardship.) I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him saying, ("Lord, we've checked our records. Ain't none of that on our books.") Love, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, ("Every time you rich men rode by your gate and wouldn't have nothing to do with Lazarus, you did it unto me.") Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least ... of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away (not into everlasting habitations, but into what?) into everlasting punishment: (You see, your future abode depends upon your present stewardship.) but the righteous into life eternal.">>

Gene Breed says that the proper discharge of our stewardship is what gives us the right to enter into and inherit prepared kingdoms. Gene Breed says that God bases our eternal habitation upon our present stewardship. Gene Breed says that our future abode depends upon our present stewardship. This is WORKS RELIGION. This is a LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL. Gene Breed preaches a FALSE GOSPEL.

The true gospel is the good news of salvation (from regeneration to final glory) based on the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Christ alone. Anyone who conditions any part of salvation on the sinner (including all Arminians and most who profess to believe the doctrines of grace) is lost.

So, my question is to all on this e-mail list: When you stand before God, are you going to stand alongside Gene Breed and plead your works as giving you the right to inherit everlasting habitations? Do you believe, as Gene Breed does, that our eternal habitation is based upon and depends upon our present stewardship? Or are you, when you stand before God, going to plead the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST ALONE as the ONLY ground of your salvation and final glory?

God demands PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS of all who will enter heaven. If God does not save Gene Breed, Gene Breed will come before God pleading his filthy works, thinking that they give him the right to enter heaven, and he will hear the dreaded words, "I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:23). In contrast to Gene Breed's damnable heresy, all of God's people realize that their present stewardship is not good enough to bring to God on judgment day and would NEVER THINK of pleading their own works as forming any part of the ground of their everlasting habitations; they will stand clothed in the righteousness of Christ on that day and will plead Christ's PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is the only thing that gives us the right to inherit prepared kingdoms.

BEWARE of the self-righteous religion of Gene Breed and all like him. There are MANY who claim to believe and preach sovereign grace who are lost. These lost so-called "sovereign gracers" come mainly in two categories:

(1) Some will say they believe the doctrines of grace but will also say that Arminians are saved or will also say that they were Arminians for a time after they were regenerated. This shows that they do not truly believe the gospel and have not truly repented of dead works and idolatry. All who believe God's gospel will realize that when they believed in works-salvation they were lost and that all who believe in works-salvation are lost. Included in the category of all who believe in works-salvation are ALL who believe in universal atonement. Those who believe that Christ died for everyone without exception DO NOT believe that what makes the difference between heaven and hell is the work of Christ ALONE. They base some part of salvation on the sinner. And any so-called "sovereign gracer" who will speak peace to such a one, who will call him a brother in Christ, is lost.

(2) Some will say they believe the doctrines of grace but will say that some part of our salvation is based on what God enables us to do. This takes many forms. Some will say that salvation is conditioned on faith. Some will say it is conditioned on repentance. Some will say it is conditioned on perseverance. And then they'll say, "But God enables us to meet the condition." This is still works-salvation. Gene Breed says that our everlasting habitations (which is part of salvation) is conditioned on our stewardship. Oh, he will say that God predestined us to be good stewards and that God enables us to be good stewards, but he still says that it is OUR WORKS that give us the right to inherit eternal life and that God bases our eternal habitation on OUR WORKS and that our future abode depends on OUR WORKS. Anyone who preaches a "gospel" of everlasting habitations based on anything that is done in the sinner or that the sinner is enabled to do is lost.

God will not give His glory to another. And His glory is seen in the face of Jesus Christ, who established a righteousness that demands the salvation of all whom He represented. CHRIST ALONE established the righteousness, and NOTHING we do can contribute ONE IOTA to saving us, keeping us saved, recommending us to God, or giving us the right to inherit everlasting habitations.

To God ALONE be the glory,

Marc D. Carpenter
