(From Outside the Camp, Vol. 1, No. 1)

Welcome to the premiere edition of Outside the Camp! We trust that this will be a blessing to all who love His truth. We are not aiming for wide distribution; this newsletter is not for all who profess to be Christians. This newsletter is specifically for people who profess to believe and proclaim the Doctrines of Grace. We hope to edify, stimulate, and challenge those who are in these circles to true, biblical Christianity.

We also realize that true, biblical Christianity is not the norm in the majority of these circles. We are not so naïve as to believe that all those who claim to believe the doctrines of grace are Christians. Two of the recurring themes that you will see on these pages, if the Lord wills it, will be calls to true doctrinal purity and personal holiness -- two things that are seriously lacking in today's professedly "Sovereign Grace" churches.

We are finding more and more people who are in areas where there is no solid organized church (or what is typically known as a church, with enough men of God to have pastors, elders, and deacons). They may live in areas where there are one or more churches that profess to believe the doctrines of grace, but they have the integrity not to be a part of a church that professes to believe the doctrines of grace but is compromising with the world or with Arminianism. Many times, they meet with one or two other believers in their homes. From Australia to the British Isles to Africa to the Philippines to the United States, there are those who refuse to associate themselves with compromising churches. They are outside the camp of religiosity and churchianity in its many forms, including the form of a so-called Reformed or Sovereign Grace church.

There are also those who are in prison, surrounded by all the apostate "fellowships" who refuse to participate in the ungodliness masquerading as Christianity and are very isolated. There are even prison "ministries" coming in the name of Sovereign Grace that are rightly avoided.

We hope that this newsletter will be an encouragement to those who boldly stand for the faith and separate from the ungodliness around them, including the ungodliness of churches/fellowships/assemblies that call themselves Reformed or Sovereign Grace or Calvinist but are synagogues of Satan.

We also realize that there are those who are blessed to be part of one of the few solid "organized" churches who are still truly outside the camp, because they still do not compromise with the false religions of the day, including the false religion of Arminianism and the false religions that come in the name of Sovereign Grace. This newsletter is for you, too.

To those of you who truly believe the gospel of salvation conditioned on the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Christ alone, we would love you to send in articles for publication. It is not guaranteed that everything you send will be published, but we encourage you to write for us. We want this to be a newsletter of the people, not just one or two people here in Vermont cranking out articles. And if any of you readers see an author of an article in here who has questionable doctrinal positions or personal life, please help us by letting us know, because we want to maintain the highest integrity.

Other plans for the future (always remembering that these plans will only be carried out if it is the Lord's will) are to publish tracts and booklets and to have a home page on the World Wide Web.

Remember -- the Word of God is the final authority. Anything you read in here must be measured by the Word. If it contradicts the Word, then we must change our beliefs. So, too, if you find something from the Word in here that contradicts your beliefs, you must change your beliefs. I hope that this will be a blessing and a challenge to all who read it.
