(From Outside the Camp, Vol. 1, No. 4)

Welcome to our special Christ-mass issue! I urge you to think seriously about what is contained in these pages, and, if necessary, change your practices.

I would also like to welcome the readers of Trumpet of Truth, the now-discontinued magazine that was put out by Wallace A. Bell of the Puritan Evangelical Church of America. Wallace told his readers who requested a replacement that he would find them a replacement, and he has chosen Outside the Camp to fill that spot. We are humbled and grateful that he would consider OTC to be a suitable replacement, and we hope that it is a blessing to our new readers.

For those of you who were waiting for word about the publication of my book review of Iain Murray's Revival and Revivalism, it has been published in the special "Revival" issue of the British Reformed Journal (July-Sept 1997). The exposé of Lloyd-Jones' "revival" theology (by Hugh L. Williams) in that issue is excellent.

The February 1998 issue of OTC will, the Lord willing, be dedicated to the issue of speaking peace to Arminians.

Finally, even though I am averse to mentioning money (and this ministry will not ask for money), I wanted to mention that some readers have sent checks made out to "Outside the Camp," and we could not cash them, because our bank account is in the name of "Sovereign Redeemer Assembly." Please note this.

And please -- do not celebrate Christmas next month.
