Knowledge of God's Redemptive Glory an Immediate Result of Regeneration

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine upon them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Corinthians 4:3-6, KJV)

"But also if our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in those being lost, in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the brightness of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus. Because [it is] God who said, 'Out of darkness Light shall shine,' who shone in our hearts to [give the] brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Corinthians 4:3-6, LITV)

Some do not believe that when God saves His people, He immediately manifests His redemptive glory to them. They say that a regenerate person could go for years or even die believing that some part of their salvation is conditioned on themselves. The Bible says differently. The passage above shows clearly that all lost people are blind to the gospel of the glory of Christ and that all saved people have had the KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST given to them. The LIGHT OF KNOWLEDGE -- the knowledge of God's redemptive glory -- the knowledge of the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Christ Jesus as the only ground of salvation -- is given to all God's people upon regeneration. There is not a single regenerate person whose mind has not been enlightened with this knowledge.

A person who believes that Christ died for all people without exception does not have this knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. He believes that the work of Jesus Christ DID NOT satisfy the demands of God's law and justice. He believes that God IS NOT a just God and a Savior. He DOES NOT know how God is just to justify the ungodly. He believes that Christ's work alone DOES NOT make the difference between heaven and hell. The god of this world has blinded his mind. He DOES NOT see God's redemptive glory in the work of Christ. The light of the gospel of Christ's glory HAS NOT shined upon him.

Any who would say that such a person could be regenerate DISHONORS the glory of God, TAKES SIDES with the god of this world against the true and living God, and REMAINS in darkness.
